Bendigo Writers Festival and Capital Venues and Events presents
A Conversation About Letting Go
With Dr Charlie Corke
Important, timely, compassionate
Join Australia’s leading intensive-care specialist, Dr Charlie Corke, talking about his new book on how to plan a “good death”.
Letting Go is a timely book about the kinds of decisions that individuals, families, and medical personnel face in a medical crisis. It shows us how to start thinking about our end-of-life stage before we get there; how to make an advance care plan that will help people make decisions on our behalf; and how we can maintain our dignity and autonomy for as long as possible.
Dr Charlie Corke is President of the College of Intensive Care of Australia and New Zealand. He is the regional clinical lead for the Advance Care Planning program and is the originator of the MyValues approach to advance care planning (www.myvalues.org.au).
Dr Corke writes with great insight and compassion, drawing on many years of experience as an intensive-care specialist. At this Bendigo Writers Festival Bookmark event he will be in-conversation with City of Greater Bendigo Community Wellbeing Manager, Chris Kelly.
This “Bookmarks at the Capital” event is presented by Bendigo Writers Festival, with thanks to Scribe and Dymocks Bendigo.
